How to Get Rift Eggs in Steal An Egg – The Rift Sacrifice Guide

In the screenshot above, taken September 6, 2026:

1. Current Egg shows the currently active Rift Egg — the Riftborn Banner at capture time.
2. The countdown under it (“Rotates in: 18m 21s”) indicates when the current banner will rotate.
3. Rotation Chances list the visible probabilities for that rotation: Riftborn (Now) 45%, Riftbeasts 35%, Shattered Rift 20%.
4. Three requested Pets appear in the middle: Penguin (Rare), Walrus (Epic) and Lava frog (Epic), each at 0/1.
5. Each requirement shows the biome where the Pet is found: Snow, Snow and Volcano.
6. Use each Add button to commit a Pet (it flips to a red “Return” button, so you can take it back before sacrificing).
7. Once all three are staged, the button becomes SACRIFICE (visible in the screenshots below).
8. Sacrificing pays out the active Rift Egg — the one in the Current Egg panel.
9. Hatch that Egg for one of its five Rift Pets (chances below).

The Rift UI lets you open the chances panel for each of the three banners — Riftborn, Riftbeasts and Shattered Rift. Based on the current in-game UI, the highlighted pool viewer and the active Current Egg are separate: in every screenshot we captured, the Current Egg panel kept showing the Riftborn Banner even while the Riftbeasts and Shattered Rift pools were open on screen (compare the three chances screenshots below).

So selecting another entry does not appear to manually change your reward — it inspects that pool. Clicking Riftbeasts or Shattered Rift displays their Pet pools; it does not appear to switch the Current Egg. That is an observed UI behavior, not a lab-tested guarantee: we have not independently run a sacrifice during a viewed-but-not-active banner.

Practical consequence: if you want a specific egg, wait until it is the one shown in the Current Egg panel before you sacrifice.

The screenshot explicitly labels the list Rotation Chances and marks the active banner as Riftborn (Now). We therefore read:

• Riftborn — 45%
• Riftbeasts — 35%
• Shattered Rift — 20%

as the displayed chances for which banner becomes active when the Current Egg rotates. We do not describe them as “your chance after pressing SACRIFICE”, because the UI does not say that. (Some third-party guides, e.g. Pro Game Guides, interpret the same numbers as craft chances; the current in-game wording wins, so we call them rotation chances.)

1. Open The Rift (the machine UI shown above) and read the three requested Pets and their biomes.
2. Get or hatch each requested Pet. Two of the September 6 requirements were in Snow, one in Volcano.
3. Add all three. You can Return a staged Pet before committing.
4. Check the Current Egg panel first — then press SACRIFICE and hatch the Rift Egg you receive.

If your goal is maximum visible income, Shattered Rift currently has the strongest reward pool shown in-game. Its top visible reward is $3.5B/s and its 4% slot is $800M/s — far above Riftborn ($500M/s top, $15M/s at 4%) and Riftbeasts ($900M/s top, $60M/s at 4%).

But “best” depends on you: Riftborn may still matter for collection completeness, Riftbeasts may matter if you want its specific pets, banner availability matters (Shattered Rift had only a 20% rotation share), and your current egg is whatever the Current Egg panel says when you sacrifice. Every chances panel in our screenshots shows a PITY 0/50 bar — for Riftborn, Riftbeasts and Shattered Rift alike. We can confidently state: the Rift Egg UI includes a 50-step PITY counter for each pool.

What we deliberately do not claim, because it is not independently verified: that the 50th egg guarantees the 0.5% pet; that pity increases probabilities gradually; that each banner has independent pity; that pity is shared; that pity resets on rotation; or that it survives server hopping.

Direct answer: the game currently displays a 0/50 PITY counter for each Rift Egg pool, but the exact trigger and reset behavior should only be stated once verified.
